Origin Green is Ireland's pioneering food and drink sustainability programme, operating on a national scale, uniting government, the private sector and the full supply chain from farmers to food producers and right through to the foodservice and retail sectors. The programme is the worlds only national food and drink sustainability programme, and enables the industry to set and achieve measurable sustainability targets that respect the environment and serve local communities more effectively.

Ashbourne Meat Processing, founded in 1985, is still in firm hands of the Houlihan and McMahon families. The company has become one of Ireland's leading beef processors, dedicated to continuing expansion over the years. Operating two sites, one in Roscrea and one in Naas, they are committed to passing down knowledge and dedicated expertise for years to come.Following the highest industry standards, Ashbourne Meat Processing have become a firm favourite for premium chilled and frozen beef products for retailers and manufacturers across Europe, Asia, and Africa. They source their beef locally from cattle grazing in the rich fields of Tipperary.
Established in Co. Waterford in 1980, Dawn Meats is a family-owned company marketing quality beef and lamb products to customers in over 50 countries. Dawn Meats is the largest processor of lamb in Europe and the leading processor of beef in the UK and Ireland. With annual revenues exceeding €2 billion, the company employs approximately 8,000 people at 29 locations in Ireland, the UK, Continental Europe and Asia, processing one million cattle and three million sheep annually. Sustainability has been central to Dawn Meats' business strategy for over 20 years, and actions are implemented through the company's dedicated, cross-functional sustainability team.
Portmagee Distilling and Brewing Company was founded in early 2017 by two brothers John and James Murphy who are from Portmagee, Co. Kerry. Stuart McNamara, international whisk(e)y writer-blogger and editor of The Irish Whiskey Trail and IrishWhiskey.com joined the team in mid-2017 and brings his wealth of Whiskey knowledge to complete the team.

Kinnegar Brewing was established in 2013 in Rathmullan, amidst the hilly fields and farms of northeast Donegal. Rapid growth and success made expansion inevitable and in 2017 the brewery relocated to a larger production facility in nearby Letterkenny. Their mission to consistently produce beer of the highest quality remained unchanged. Kinnegar pairs brewing tradition with a contemporary sense of adventure to produce clean, crisp, full-flavoured beers. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, their extensive range of core beers spans a wide variety of highly drinkable, accessible styles. State of the art brewing facilities offer the flexibility to meet the ever-increasing demand for Kinnegar Brewing's popular core range, while also allowing the production of small batch brews ideal for piloting fresh ideas and keeping the interest of both brewers and customers piqued. Still the only Irish brewery to have achieved a Gold award in the prestigious World Beer Cup, the quality of Kinnegar Brewing's beer is franked by international critical acclaim. From their family farm in Lobinstown, County Meath, Meade Potato Company have now been growing, packing and distributing premium quality potatoes, fruit, vegetables, salads and organics over the past five decades.Philip Meade Sr. first began selling potatoes in the towns around Meath and Louth in 1977 and soon extended to Irish vegetables, and later, to Irish and other fruit. They were the first company to export Irish potatoes abroad by the boatload, and have since initiated shipments abroad of Irish product whenever export market conditions were suitable.Nestled in the drumlins of the Boyne Valley, the Meade farm and food production facility bears little resemblance to their original family farm. It has grown from a single packing store to include 150,000 sq. feet of packing facilities housing numerous state of the art production lines, with over 500,000sq. ft of loading and distribution space, all of which serve to make the journey from farm to fork as efficient as possible. The next generation of Meades now lead a team of over 240 people.

Bord Bia work with 36 domestic and international partners to deliver the Origin Green programme, from verficiation, accreditation, education and training. Collaborating will be cornerstone of this next stage of Origin Green’s strategic development in 2025 and beyond.
