A central feature of the initiative is its endorsement of the Mesoamerican Development Institute (MDI) model for sustainable coffee production. This model integrates forest conservation with low-emission coffee processing technologies, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while restoring native ecosystems. Bewley’s support of this model reflects its broader sustainability goals and its role in promoting regenerative practices within its supply chain.
The project also contributes to global biodiversity conservation efforts by protecting critical habitats for native flora and fauna.
